Happy Kenari by Syreene
Happy Kenari
Whenever I can't think of anything to draw I fall back on my muse Kenari, the Catfolk Rogue that I created from an old Pathfinder/Spelljammer/Planescape campaign I got to play in. ^_^

Ink and Prismacolor/Copic Markers
Lagertha by Syreene
Seeing as Vikings has finally started it's new season, I was inspired to draw my favorite character Lagertha, the ex-wife of Ragnar.

Ink, Prismacolor and Copic Markers with a little Photoshop for the parchment background
Cartomancy Red vs Blue by Syreene
Cartomancy Red vs Blue
Tried an experiment with the card back design where I removed the black and used a solid red and blue coloring like the stereotypical playing cards.

Childhood Idols Found

Journal Entry: Thu Jan 19, 2012, 5:06 AM
Imagine my joy when I discoverd that one of the artists who first inspired me as a child was here on Deviant Art.

Anubis, Guardian of the Dead by JeffDee   Bast, the Cat Goddess by JeffDee

Jeff Dee was one of the artists who worked on the 1st Edition Dungeons & Dragons books back in the late 70s/early 80s. His gorgeous illustrations and linework in the Deities & Demigods book especially were what drew me as a child. The images of the gods inspired me to not only game, but to begin to read about the mythologies of other cultures and to start drawing myself.

When I went to his page I was saddened to read about how TSR, the original company back then, threw out most of the original artwork from those books. Thankfully, Jeff Dee is currently working on restoring those lost illustrations in a Kickstarter project. Those who back it can receive signed illustrations of his recreated illustrations for the Norse Pantheon!…

So... if you're an old-school gamer like me who remembers those great books, a fan of Norse mythology, or just a fan of the arts who hates to see wonderful artwork fall into obscurity, then be sure to check out the site above and show your support!

He's only got 18 more days to raise about $1,400 more... so let's help him do it, people!
